A portrait of Tolstoy has been pasted in to the front paste down of A Confession. Previous owners ink inscriptions to the front free end papers of A Confession, dated 1928, Resurrection, dated 1931, What is Art?, dated 1930, and Twenty-three Tales, dated 1947. Bookplate to the front free end paper of Nine Stories.


CONDITION

In the publishers original cloth bindings. Anna Karenina retains the original unclipped dust wrapper. Fading to the spine lettering to A Confession. Faint marks to the boards of Twenty-three Tales. Light offsetting to the end papers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, except for odd spots to the fore edge of Kreutzer Sonata. Dust wrapper to Anna Karenina is generally smart, though scattered with light spots, with a small closed tear to the front of the wrap. Sunning to the spine of the wrap.
